CORINTH CANAL CROSSING

This cruise is a unique opportunity to sail through this impressive work, the Corinth Canal made in 1893.

The famous Corinth Canal is about 6 km long and only 21.3 meters wide separates the Peloponnese from mainland Greece, connecting the Gulf of Corinth with the Saronic Gulf. The canal, though only completed in the late 19th century, was an idea and dream that dates back over 2000 years.

Before the engineers succeeded to build this canal where their predecessors had failed, ships had to sail all the way around the Peloponnese – adding 185 nautical miles and several extra days to the journey.

The duration of sailing is about 1,5 hours.
